Volia Company Has Two Up-to-Date Data-Centers
Data-Center I
Opened in August 2006. Location: 1/2 Kikvidze St. (Pechersk district),
Kyiv. Capacity: over 2,000 units.
Data-center network operates on the basis of 10Gbit Ethernet Cisco Catalyst
3750-E switches, as well as switches of 2960G and 2960 series. Network traffic
is processed by a Cisco 7600 router. To increase its fault-tolerance
Data-center network is built in parallel: active networking equipment, its
communication lines, as well as fiber-optic communication lines with the
company backbone network have a backup. Backbone access speed is 20Gbps.
Data-center uses two independent power supply sources. Switching between main
and redundant sources is done by means of АВР A300 of American company named
ASCO Power Technologies. Power supply reliability is of the 1st class one. Power
supply continuity is provided by two industrial Master Dialog RT UPS.s of
Italian company named Riello UPS Manufacturing. Uninterruptible power supply
systems operate in parallel and serve as a back up to each other. Even though
one of them fails completely Data-center electric power supply will operate with
no interruptions. One power supply source is enough for meeting all the
Data-center requirements. In the ordinary operation conditions power supply load
is shared between two UPS.s, what doubles backup time and provides a partial
load mode for the equipment again resulting in their reliability. Supply power
is 200KW.
The climate is provided by three high-precision industrial Liebert-HIROSS Himod
M air conditioners of Emerson Network Power Company. Climate conditions are
provided by these AC.s in accordance with the TIA/EIA-942 (temperature 20-25С,
relative humidity 40-55%) requirements for data-centers. The conditioners are
equipped with G4 class air filters (purification efficiency is not less than 90%
under the State Standard Р51251-99). To support necessary parameters two AC.s
like these will be enough, and the third one usually serves as a hot backup and
is turned on automatically should any faults occur with one of the two main
units. All conditioners are controlled by Hiromatic Evolution management system.
Data-center II
Opened in January 2009. Location: 13B Semii Sosninykh St. (Borshchagovka district),
Kyiv. The capacity of the first part commissioned is more than 3,000 units.
Data-center network operates on the basis of 10Gbit Ethernet Cisco Catalyst
3750-E switches, switches of 2960 series, as well as Extreme Networks Summit
X450a ones. Cisco Catalyst 4900M switches are used for 10-Gbit link aggregation.
Traffic is processed by a Cisco 7600 router with Line Card ES20-10G. As in the
case with the first Data-center, key network components are backed up. Backbone
access speed is 40 Gbps.
The Data-center uses a few power supply sources. The main power supply is
provided from the trunk network of 10 kW power through an independent
switch-yard. The switching between two power supply sources is done
automatically by means of АВР Zenith of American company named General Electric.
In case of complete fail of electric power supply there is a diesel-generator
set designed to serve as a backup. Power supply continuity is provided by four
industrial General Electric UPS.s connected upon a redundant circuit. Even
though one of them goes out of order electricity supply will not be interrupted.
Supply power is 1MW.
The climate is provided by dual high-precision Liebert-HIROSS Himod M air
conditioners. Climate conditions are provided by these AC.s in accordance with
the TIA/EIA-942 (temperature 20-25С, relative humidity 40-55%) requirements for
data-centers. The conditioners are equipped with G4 class air filters
(purification efficiency is not less than 90% under the State Standard
Р51251-99). Redundant modules are provided for by the system in case of failure
of main ones. All conditioners are controlled by ColdFire management system.
Both Data-centers are equipped with fire alarm system and automatic gas fire
fighting system. The system like this allows efficiently suppress possible
hotbeds of fire and is absolutely harmless for servers and equipment unlike
water and dry chemical fire fighting systems. Data-centers are equipped in
addition with hand held carbon-dioxide extinguishers also harmless for the
equipment.
Physical access to the subscriber equipment is available 24h/7. There are
working places in the Data-centers designed for subscribers in case of need to
work with a server onsite. If needed subscribers are free to have remote access
to the server local console via IP-KVM.
Technical support service operates 24h/7 and deals with Data-center
subscriber servicing only.
